A teenager who was on the run following the brutal murder of a taxi driver in Solihull has been arrested by police.

Oliver Pugh was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 44-year-old Mohammed Istakhar on Tuesday 29 November.

The 19-year-old from Solihull was charged with murder and remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday (6 December).

Police had already arrested and charged another teenager over the murder.

Luca De-Fazio, aged 18, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday 30 November.

Mr Istakhar – a beloved father of five – was found with serious injuries at around 6.45am at the junction of Braggs Farm Lane at Lady Lane on Tuesday 29 November.

Tragically, nothing could be done by paramedics to save the life of a man described by his family as a “hero”.
