A teenager has been left seriously injured after a private e-scooter collided with a car in Coventry yesterday (9 July).

The collision happened on the A444 Jimmy Hill Way, Coventry, near to the Sainsbury’s Island at around 5pm.

A 15-year-old suffered serious ankle injuries and remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

According to West Midlands Police, the driver stopped at the scene and assisted with inquiries.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the force’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “A teenager has been left seriously injured and we’re in the process of establishing the full circumstances around what happened.

“I would appeal to the person who removed the scooter from the scene to get in touch.  You are not helping anyone by taking the scooter.

“If anyone has any information in particular anyone with dash-cam footage please get in touch.”
