A three-year-old girl who was a passenger in a car has tragically died following a horror crash in Yardley which resulted in a car smashing into a fence and rolling over on Wednesday (22 December).

The fatal accident occurred in Church Road, Yardley, on Wednesday evening and the toddler was rushed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital but she sadly passed away the following day (23 December).

The tragic accident took place around 10:30pm on Wednesday in the Yardley area of Birmingham. The driver of the car suffered serious injuries and was taken to Heartlands Hospital.

Police confirmed a 22-year-old woman was arrested at the time on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and later released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Sergeant Julie Lyman, from the Serious Collision Investigation Team, cautioned members of the public about speculating about the tragic accident.
