Peaky Blinders will return for another series if fans want it, says show creator

Peaky Blinders show creator Steven Knight revealed some exciting news about the possible return of the Small Heath gangsters in a new series.

Fans of the Peaky Blinders were hungry for more after Series Six of the show, which aired earlier this year, was thought to be the final season.

Steven Knight, speaking ahead of the new Rambert Dance show Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby which premieres tonight at The Birmingham Hippodrome, said the world famous Small Heath set show could return if there is enough interest.

The Peaky Blinders show has been a smash-hit and has a worldwide audience of millions and is available on the BBC iPlayer and Netflix.

The original plan was to produce seven seasons of the BAFTA award-winning BBC show, but when Series Six was broadcast there was an announcement that it was the final series and the Peaky Blinders story would conclude with a feature film.

Knight is currently busy working on the feature film version of the show, which he hopes to film in Digbeth next year and release in 2024, and will hand over the writing chores of the new television series to another team if plans go ahead.

The new Peaky Blinders stories are expected to take the Shelby family into the 1950’s.
