After last week’s shocking sex attack on a Birmingham bus police are appealing for information about an earlier sexual assault in April on the same bus service.

A female passenger was sexually assaulted on the X2 Birmingham to Solihull bus service on the evening of 26th April in the city centre.

West Midlands Police have issued a CCTV image of a suspect that officers want to track down in connection with the terrifying sexual assault which took place on a National Express West Midlands bus.

The man in question had sunglasses balanced on the top of his head and was wearing a hi-vis coat over a suit with a striking red tie. He is also reported to have been spotted carrying what looks like a toolbox.

A police spokesperson, said: “We’re seeking information after a woman was sexually assaulted on a bus in the city centre.

“It happened on the X2 bus from Moor Street at 7.20pm on April 26.

“We want to identify this man in connection with the incident.

“Can you help? Get in touch quoting 20/382068/23.”

Disturbingly, the X2 bus service saw a sexual assault take just last Wednesday (31 May) when a woman was assaulted around 11am as the bus travelled down Coventry Road.

Last year a teenage female passenger reported a sex crime on the upper deck of the same bus service when a 41-year-old man allegedly exposed himself to the young girl.

The youngster was targeted on 18th March as the X2 bus service approached the Coventry Road and Upper Trinity Street junction near Bordesley railway station.
